Another beautiful picture. How do you do it? We have just returned from a few days in North Devon and I got some lovely shots myself but I think I shall have to think about doing a course if I am to improve.
Thanks so much for your nice comments. I don’t think you need to go on a course – especially if it’s going to be costly. It’ll be two years next month since I started photography but, being retired, have done practically nothing else since. I haven’t been on any courses but got some tips from my sister (who’s a much better photographer than I am) and also by looking at other peoples photos. In the beginning when I saw how good others were I was a hairsbreadth away from throwing my camera in the bin. LOL!
The camera was on automatic for most of the first year and more as I was too lazy to read the manual and learn the settings. My dear son started me off with the manual by suggesting that I take one setting at a time and take photographs using just that setting for a week or two until I was sure I had grasped it (much more sense than his mother). It worked.
Sorry for rambling on, Corinne, but honestly, just look at others photos and, if time is not a problem, just carry your camera everywhere even it it’s just to the local shop and practice your heart out. Photography is an extremely therapeutic hobby.
I hope you are going to post your photos of North Devon so we can see them. I’ll bet they’re lovely. I haven’t been there but I know it’s a really nice place.
Thanks for the advice. I shall follow it. The next few soulsnet posts will include some North Devon shots so see what you think. I’m actually quite pleased but I will have to dig out that manual because I only use one setting myself. There are masses of buttons on the dial but I have only every used shoot and rewind!!
PS I will share your lovely boat picture shortly if that is alright.
Thanks
Stunning colours, Anne. Such beauty in creation!! Bless you.
Thanks so much, Lizzie. I’m very pleased you like it.
Really pretty, Anne!
Thank you, Carol.
